The blue waves latte is a bold, visually arresting drink that layers espresso and butterfly pea flower milk into a swirling deep-blue base, topped with a thick white foam ready for printing – perfect for summer events, sports events, themed nights, or any venue that wants a signature drink that stops guests mid-scroll.
Ingredients
- Iced Latte Base:
- 2 shots of espresso
- 5 oz whole milk (or oat milk)
- 1 tsp butterfly pea flower powder
- ½ oz simple syrup
- 1 cup ice
- Cold foam:
- 3 oz heavy cream
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
Whisk butterfly pea flower powder into the milk until fully dissolved. It should turn a deep, vivid blue. Stir in simple syrup.
Step 2: Make the cold foam
Combine heavy cream, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and sea salt in a small pitcher. Froth with a handheld frother until thick and slowly pourable.
Step 3: Build the latte
Fill a glass with ice. Pour the blue milk over the ice, then add the espresso shots slowly on top. The espresso will marble through the blue milk as it settles – don’t over-stir. Let the layers form naturally.
Step 4. Add the foam
Pour the cold foam slowly over the back of a spoon so it sits as a thick, even layer on top.
Step 5. Print and Serve
On the smooth foam surface, print your desired design using the Ripple Maker, and serve immediately. Encourage guests to share it before they sip.
This latte is built around the moment it lands on the table. The swirling blue base draws attention before the first sip, and the printed foam makes it shareable from every angle – whether it’s a logo, a match score, or a personalized message. A drink that works as hard on social as it does behind the bar.
