New Recipes from The Bartender’s Guild at FIU

Rebecca ConnorsDecember 20, 2023

We’re huge fans of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University, and we’re so lucky that they’re fans of Ripples!

The Bartender’s Guild is a student-run organization that shares a passion, curiosity, and camaraderie for the art and concepts of mixology, craft cocktails, and fine spirits. Student leaders from this fantastic group developed three festive NEW cocktails for us all to enjoy.

With flavors ranging from lemon peppermint to watermelon basil, the secret behind all three foam-topped drinks is Ms Better’s Bitters MIraculous foamer. This 100% natural vegan formulation contains the equivalent of 100+ egg whites and just a few drops creates a creamy top for any cocktail creation.

We love these drinks, the great holiday names paired with perfect winter prints, and of course the chance to work with these students who are already transforming the hospitality industry.

Why Investing in Regulars Is the Smartest Move for Your Café

Cafés were never just about coffee; they’re what sociologists call “third places”: the spaces between home and work where people connect, unwind, and feel a sense of belonging. These environments don’t just serve good coffee - they build routines, relationships, and emotional attachment. And that’s what drives repeat visits and long-term profitability.According to Duke University research, 40-45% of our daily actions are driven by habit, meaning customers don’t repeatedly choose a café because it’s the best; they choose it because it’s familiar.Once that habit is formed, switching requires effort, and most people simply don’t. But habit alone isn’t what creates real loyalty - recognition does. Here is why investing in your regulars isn’t just good hospitality - it’s one of the most powerful drivers of long-term business success:
